Our students "adopted" a Peep!
For our STEM challenge, students were asked to create a recess toy with a plastic bag. Some students shared what their product looked like!
We had a visitor do magic tricks related to math. It was called the "Magical Math Assembly."
Because our school reached our reading goal, Mr. Horst dressed as Barbie and students poured pizza ingredients on top of him!

After reading Dr. Seuss' story "Yertle the Turtle," we created our own turtles and stacked them upon each other!
We had an engineer visit our classroom on February 18th. He talked about what skills an engineer needs and read a story about his occupation.
Students celebrated Valentines Day by exchanging gifts with each other. We also played bingo!
We have had volunteers visit our classroom to teach us about different jobs in the community and the skills needed for them.
Our class learned about the importance of brushing your teeth twice a day from a local dental hygienist.
We had a fun movie party! We watched the Grinch.
Fifth grade students from the Intermediate School created Christmas stories. They read the stories to our class!
We read "Balloons Over Broadway" by Melissa Sweet. It is a story about Tony Sarg, a man known for creating the large balloons in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We created our own balloons and there is a video at the end!
We learned today that green balloons don't work well in front of a green screen 😅
In science, we learned about the movement of water in rivers. We created models with partners.
We created turkeys this week in science. We colored the turkeys and used classroom materials to watch them gobble down the path!

After reading "Room on the Broom" by Julia Donaldson, students were challenged with creating their own broom using straws and tape (pumpkin was used as the characters).
Students were challenged with flipping water bottles containing candy corn. The goal was to see exactly how much candy corn was needed in the water bottle.
The PTO hosted a fundraiser this year. It was a Fun Run!
Mrs. Gosse, our district's STEM teacher, visited us. We did a project on saving a "Mouse" from the bottom of a "hole." This aligned with the story Help! A Story a Friendship, that we read this week.
In this activity, students had to work together to "save Fred."
In this challenge, students had to complete a puzzle without knowing what the final picture would be.
